1. General information
This is an elective subject that provides knowledge and information on the use of ICT in the teaching of SFL, including repositories, meeting forums and educational platforms for language teaching.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/): 4, 5, 10, 16 and 17. An advanced instrumental mastery of the Spanish language is required (non-native students will be required to have a B2 level of Spanish).
2. Learning results
Upon completion of the subject, the student will be able to:
-recognize the needs of the foreign language teacher and know how ICT tools can help them.
-know the possibilities the Internet offers regarding social relationships with the SFL community. -know where to find forums and meeting places for training as well as for virtual and non-virtual work.
-know the resources that exist on the Web, and be able to search and reuse them.
-acquire adequate competence in the use of certain communication, management and assessment tools.
-introduction to the creation of new materials with ICT tools.
3. Syllabus
1.- Introduction. The integration of computer tools in the teaching of SFL.
2.- Teaching management and organization. Educational platforms for language teaching. Creation and presentation of teaching units with ICT tools.
3.- Lexicon, grammar, pragmatics and ICT resources. The "gamification" of the SFL classroom.
4.- ICT in the development of aural and audio-visual comprehension-production. The podcast. YouTube. Creation and reuse of materials. Subtitling.
5.- ICT in the development of written interaction skills. The blog. Wikis. Social Media.
4. Academic activities
The learning process is based on the participatory master class model, so students must actively participate. In addition, students will complement this work through the completion, inside and outside the classroom, of different programmed tasks. These tasks will help students put into practice and deepen the theoretical and practical aspects learned in the classroom.
Learning activities:
-Participative master classes (theoretical-practical) in the classroom.
-Individual and group tutoring.
-Bibliographic work, readings and tests corresponding to the units of the program, as well as the use of the virtual learning environment.
5. Assessment system
For the continuous assessment, participation in the practical activities carried out will be taken into account. For this purpose, it is necessary to submit the corresponding reports in Moodle tasks (up to 40% of the grade) and to complete three activities related to the management of ICT in the development of skills, competences and abilities in the SFL classroom (up to 60% of the grade). The assessment criteria will take into account the quality of the solutions provided for the proposed activities.
Global assessment test (first and second call)
Academic work in accordance with the contents of the module and subject (100% weighting). The bibliography consulted, the scientific accuracy, the personal reflection on the topic addressed, the originality of the presentation and of the selection of contents will be assessed.
